계단의 공간적 가능성을 실험한 한남동 갤러리

Hannam Tectonic is an experimental architecture project that expands the potential of the stair. Program is gallery. If the stair is narrow, it will be just used for people to be risen up and down as a pathway, while if the stair can be wide, it could be a space in which people stay to take a rest or enjoy some performances. Through this experimental thought, we propose a gallery space that is integrated all of the architectural elements as stairs. In this architectural and structural manner, we design several void spaces, so that people can see Mountain Nam and city view of Seoul. The stairs are composed of two different ways, like a Möbius strip, and meets on the top level. To sum up, Hannam Tectonic Stairs would be a new type of experimental architecture for how the fundamental architectural element, stair, can be spatially expanded to become a space.

한남 텍토닉은 계단의 공간적 가능성을 실험한 프로젝트이다. 프로그램을 갤러리이다. 계단이 좁으면 사람이 그저 오르내리는 통로로 사용되지만, 계단이 넓어지면 사람들이 머무르고 점유하며 앉아서 휴식을 하거나 공연을 관람하는 공간이 될 수 있다. 본 프로젝트를 통해 계단으로 모든 건축 요소와 공간을 구성하는 갤러리 디자인을 제안하였다. 코어를 건물의 중심에 배치하여 구조적인 뼈대를 이루고 계단과 건축물의 외벽이 일체화된 구조를 만들었다. 이렇게 만들어진 구조 속에서 계단을 따라서 남산과 도시 방향으로 보이드 공간을 디자인하여 사람들이 갤러리와 더불어 도시와 자연을 바라볼 수 있는 휴식처로의 공간을 가지도록 하였다. 내부 계단은 두 개의 방향으로 설계된 계단이 서로 다른 방향으로부터 시작하여 옥상에서 만나는, 뫼비우스의 띠와 같은 공간을 디자인하였다. 한남 텍토닉 박스 프로젝트는 계단이라는 건축요소가 공간적으로 어떻게 확장될 수 있는지에 대해 실험적으로 탐구한 새로운 건축이 될 것이다.
