Danwon Edu Forum is to design interior spaces, for rehabilitating two teacher’s offices in Danwon Highschool, as an innovative education project, launched by Ansan Office of Education. The two existing teacher’s offices will be converted to students’ lecture hall, lounge, multi-purpose space, and small club rooms in modern educational manner. Under the school’s program requirement, we propose two interior design concepts – flexibility and communal space. On the 3rd floor space, we create folding door between large lecture hall and student lounge, so that the two spaces can be interacted actively. On the 4th floor space, we make large multi-purpose space with two small lecture hall, in order to be connected student’s diverse activities each other. In the multi-purpose space, we design contour-like stairs as a student’s bench and a bar like a cafe, in which students can use these spaces for their club activity and self-study. In conclusion, Danwon Edu Forum we design will create a new educational identity for Danwon Highschool that was suffered from Sewol ferry disaster in 2014.

단원 에듀 포럼은 단원고등학교의 교육공간 혁신사업의 일환으로 기존 교무실 두 개를 학생과 선생님이 함께 하는 공간으로 리모델링하는 프로젝트이다. 기존 3층과 4층에 위치한 교무실 공간에 학생들의 편의를 위한 넓은 강의 공간, 학생 휴게 라운지, 다목적 공간, 소모임실 등을 현대적인 교육공간으로 만들었다. 학교측에서 제시한 이러한 프로그램에 우리는 가변성과 소통하는 공간이라는 두 가지 공간적 컨셉으로 디자인을 진행하였다. 3층 공간에는 대형 강의 공간과 함께 학생 라운지를 설치하였고 그 중간의 벽을 폴딩 도어로 만들어서 두 공간이 소통하도록 하였다. 4층에는 넓은 다목적 공간을 만들고 두 개의 소강의실을 배치하여 강의와 학생 활동이 연계되도록 하였다. 또한 다목적 공간에는 계단식 의자와 카페 스타일의 Bar를 설치하여 학생들이 자유로운 분위기 속에서 동아리 활동과 휴식, 자율 학습 등을 할 수 있도록 디자인하였다. 우리의 디자인은 과거 세월호 참사의 아픔을 겪었던 단원고등학교가 새로운 교육적 정체성을 가지도록 할 것이다.
