For designing Seonbu 2 Dong administrative office in Ansan, we propose a special architectural concept, Twisted Cube. By twisting architectural mass toward south side, all the spaces can get affluent natural light and improve their energy efficiency and ventilation, making several communal and social spaces such as atrium and terraces all around the building in the public office, as a cultural box, which is not just a traditional administrative office. As we hybridize owner-required programs, such as admisitrative office and several cultural spaces – dancing room, media room, fitness club, and book cafe, the administrative office will be a cultural hub in this region, where the site is very close to the Seonbu Subway Station and public parks and is in-between two daycare centers. In addition, we create dynamic and energy-related facade system, considering orientation and urban context, composed of brick and granite buildings. Through our design scheme, Seonbu 2 Dong would be more active and dynamic urban culture in which people can be mingled each other in this hybridized architectural spaces.
