The book collects several projects, done by architect Yongmin Lee at Pratt Institute Graduate Architecture and Urban Design (GAUD). He has expanded the meaning of nature into architecture, urbanism and landscape field, reinterpreting ecological phenomena in New York City such as climate change, sea level rise and biology-related things. This book includes several award-winning design projects as well as Yongmin’s visonary works, such as Metamorphic Landscape, The Void Vessels, Manhattan Rock, Brooklyn Iceberg, Research for Brooklyn Museum, Urban Research for Brooklyn Downtown. Through this book and research by Yongmin, he has proposed a new methodology of architectural design, combined with urbanism and landscape as an interdisciplinary design, specifically related to natural phenomena of NYC.
